AFC TOTTON will be without hat-trick hero Tony Lee for Saturday’s stern Southern One South & West test at Swindon Supermarine.

Lee weighed in the his second treble in three Stags appearances last weekend as Totton eased some of the pressure on manager Steve Hollick with 5-1 romp at Burnham.

But, once again, the on-loan Eastleigh goal ace will be on FA Cup duty for his parent club in their first round tie at Crewe Alexandra.

It’s a source of huge frustration for Hollick – not least because the signs are there that Lee could potentially build up a prolific partnership with the Stags’ long-serving frontman Nathaniel Sherborne.

Hollick said: “I can understand that Chris (Todd, Eastleigh boss) wants Tony but, from our point of view, it would nice to have a bit of consistency and for Tony and Sherbs to have a run of games together to see how good that partnership could be.

“I tried to plead with Chris but he wants to take him with Eastleigh and that’s life at the moment. We just have to be professional about it,” he said.

“Tony wants to be involved with Eastleigh. He’s a young lad who wants to play as high as he can.

“But he’s only 19 and, if he keeps banging in the goals for us at a good standard of football, that can only add to his credentials.”

Much as the Burnham win came as a welcome relief for Hollick after a poor run of results, he warned: “One swallow doesn’t make a summer and we’re not going to get carried away. Saturday will be a completely different game."

Supermarine are sixth, just two points outside the play-off zone and 11 points better off than the 17th-placed Stags.

“The scouting reports suggest Swindon will be right up there this season. Dave Webb (Marine manager) is doing excellent job and we’re under no illusion how tough it’s going to be,” said the Totton boss. “We could have done with a full squad available.”

On a positive note, Totton’s other Eastleigh loanee Jack Alexander will travel with the Stags and they have extended the deal for AFC Bournemouth defender Jack Simpson.

Mike Gosney could return sooner than expected from knee trouble depending on how he fares after a reserve team run-out.

Totton have lodged notice of approach with Farnborough for 21-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Victor Silvestre Brotons and they are awaiting international clearance for former Andover, Winchester and Bashley winger Kyle Joryeff who is back from a spell playing in Australia’s Victoria Premier League.

Joryeff, who spent five years at Saints academy, is good with both feet and will provide cover for widemen Gosney and Nick Watts who have only played six games together all season.
