AFC TOTTON'S summer signing spree is up to three.

In addition to goalkeeper Shane Murphy, signed from Dorchester Town, the Stags have added the pace and power of Team Solent wideman Tobi Adekunle and secured the services of Alfy Whittingham on loan from Havant & Waterlooville for a further season.

Aged 22, forward/wideman Adekunle is from good footballing stock, having come through the QPR academy.

While studying at Southampton Solent University, he played for Sholing and later joined Team Solent, scoring the Students' winning goal in their 2015/16 Sydenhams League Cup triumph over Newport IoW.

He has spent part of this season dual-signed for Basingstoke Town and is now looking to push on in the Southern One South & West with Louis Langdown's Totton.

Whittingham – son of former Portsmouth striker Guy – has already proved himself an excellent Southern League prospect at just 18 years of age.

The attacking midfielder initially joined Totton on loan in December and his displays got better and better as the season progressed.

Team boss Langdown said: “Alfy fits the profile of the player we want at AFC Totton. He plays with energy and commitment and, as a manager, that is the perfect starting point.”
