AFC TOTTON have welcomed a second prolific scorer to the Southern One South & West club.

Tony Lee has signed for the Stags from Gosport Borough hot on the heels of Craig Feeney’s arrival from Winchester City.

In November 2015 Lee became the first home-grown youngster to sign a professional contract with Eastleigh in almost ten years.

He spent much of his senior Spitfires career gathering experience out on loan with the likes of Poole Town, Dorchester Town, Cirencester, Tiverton and Whitehawk.

He even had a spell at Totton two seasons ago, giving Stags fans a sneak preview of his talent by plundering an impressive six goals in just three games before being recalled by the Spitfires.

The Southampton-based marksman, who can also do a job at full-back, finally made the break from Eastleigh last season, joining Gosport Borough in the National League South.

Despite a season of struggle for Alex Pike’s men, he produced a decent return of seven goals from 19 Borough appearances.

After being moved from pillar to post, Lee is looking to settle at a club he can call home and Totton manager Louis Langdown is chuffed to welcome him to the Testwood Stadium.

“Tony fits the profile of players we want at the club. He brings quality and ambition," said the boss.

“To be honest, we chanced our arm at getting him and are delighted we did.

“Adam (Wilde, assistant manager) and Jamie (Cotton, goalkeeper coach) have played a massive role in identifying the right characters and players to help us improve on last year and the feel-good factor around the club has played a key role in persuading players to commit.

“We believe we are putting together a squad that will play good football and work hard for each other and the shirt.”
