AFC TOTTON have been boosted by striker Craig Feeney's decision to stay at the club.

The former Winchester City marksman attracted a notice of approach from Evo-Stik South West rivals Salisbury last week.

Totton did not waive the seven days, but Feeney eventually spoke to Whites boss Steve Claridge.

Pleasingly for Totton, he has decided to stay where he is.

"Craig listened to Steve but it was nice to hear that he's happy to play at Totton," said Stags boss Louis Langdown.

"He just needs to start scoring now...!"

Goals have been in short supply all round of late with Totton heading into Saturday's home game against third-placed Didcot Town on the back of successive 1-0 away defeats.

The latest, at Swindon Supermarine on Tuesday, was another tale of being punished for one mistake and squandering some gilt-edged chances.

"We keep missing one-on-ones," said Langdown. "If you don't take these opportunities, you will end up losing.

"It's a shame because we were handily placed to get into the play-off positions, but two 1-0 away defeats have derailed us a bit and we've slipped down (to 11th).

"But it's a young group and when 18 and 19-year-olds are on a run of good games you know there's an indifferent one just around the corner.

"Hopefully they'll learn from defeats at Cinderford and Swindon and be better for it. We mustn't forget that Swindon will probably end up a top-six side."

The Railwaymen of Didcot are on a run of three straight league wins.

They came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Larkhall on Tuesday thanks to Brazilian Felipe Barcelos, a recent arrival from Cirencester Town, and two-goal Marlon Agyakwa, signed from Oxford City.

"They've come from nowhere to be third, so they've obviously improved quickly," said Langdown.

"But if we can look after ourselves and not make errors, there's every chance we could win."

Winger Curtis Young (groin) is struggling and Langdown is unsure whether on-loan Aldershot defender Jack Barker will be available.

Connor York is back from injury, but player/assistant boss Adam Wilde is ruled out after a shoulder operation.
