EASTLEIGH striker/midfielder Chris Flood has had his loan spell to Blue Square Bet South rivals Maidenhead United extended into a second month.
The 22-year-old has impressed Magpies manager Johnson Hippolyte since arriving at York Road and Spitfires boss Richard Hill will continue to monitor his progress.
Hill’s more immediate concern, however, is the goalkeeping department.
Ross Flitney, brought in as competition for ex-Saint Jack Dovey, has been recalled by parent club Gillingham with immediate effect having started the last five league and cup games for the Spitfires. Eastleigh, who have been without a game since November 17, had been hoping to play a friendly tonight away to Hill’s old club Witney Town of the Hellenic Premier Division. That match has been cancelled, however, due to a waterlogged pitch. The Spitfires’ postponed league fixture at home to Truro City has been rearranged for Tuesday, December 11 (7.45pm).
