EASTLEIGH’S next Vanarama Conference opponents, AFC Telford United, have sacked their manager.
The basement club, who host Richard Hill’s Spitfires at New Bucks Head on Saturday, dispensed with manager Liam Watson and assistant Dominic Morley in the wake of Saturday’s 1-1 FA Trophy draw at home to Chester.
Watson joined Telford in May last year after their relegation to the Conference North and led them straight back up as champions. But they have struggled this term, losing 16 of 24 league matches.
Eastleigh tonight (7.45pm) host Sydenhams Premier outfit Horndean in the Hampshire FA Senior Cup third round – the tie having been switched from the Deans’ Five Heads Park home. The winners will host AFC Bournemouth’s development squad in the quarter-finals.
