Eastleigh's new South Stand, which has been unofficially open since December, will be officially opened as the Mackoy Community Stand when the Spitfires take on Macclesfield in the Vanarama Conference later this month.

The match on February 28, live on BT Sports for a 12.45 kick off, at the Silverlake Stadium will mark the opening of the stand, which takes the capacity of the Stoneham Lane ground beyond 5,000.

Eastleigh are hoping that the match will set a new attendance record, with new community sponsors, Compass Vechicle Leasing, having bought up 1,500 tickets already.

The Spitfires have already set a record breaking league crowd this term, after 2,621 came to the 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers in September.

"These tickets will be made available to community groups, local sport teams, schools and alike, free of charge," a statement on the club's official website says.

"This is a wonderful gesture by our new sponsor and we are hopeful that this will help make the opening of the stand a memorable occasion."
