Eastleigh manager Richard Hill insists that their victory at Vanarama Conference leaders Bristol Rovers will be in vain if they don’t come away from Kidderminster Harriers with at least a point.

The Spitfires pulled-off a famous 2-1 win at the Gas on Saturday but must quickly reassert themselves as they look to continue their play-off push at Harriers tonight (7.45pm).

The rearranged fixture from January at the Aggborough Stadium couldn’t have come at a better time for Richard Hill’s men.

The Silverlake Stadium side have transformed their away form, having just won three games in a row – at Southport, Chester and Rovers – on their travels.

Those results have seen them gain momentum at an important time, and left them well-placed for a charge into the top five.

On top of that, they are visiting a Kidderminster side – who they beat 1-0 in the FA Cup earlier this season – that’s in the middle of a major slump and without a home win since December 20 – six games without victory.

In fact, such is their dip in form that they’ve taken just nine points from a possible 27 since the turn of the year, with just two points accumulated at Aggborough.

Their 2-0 defeat at lowly Alfreton Town on Saturday marked six games without a win and 390 minutes without a goal.

Eastleigh will look to take advantage of that, but Hill, pictured right, is keen to keep his side’s feet firmly on the ground.

“Getting carried away with winning one game could be detrimental to another,” he said after the Spitfires’ 2-1 win at the Gas.

“I said to the players they were fantastic but, it won’t count for much if we don’t go to Kidderminster on Tuesday and get at least a point or win that football match.

“We’ve won our last three games,” he added.

“But what’s happened is over those three games is Forest Green have won their last three games as well.

“You’d say if you get anything from the past three games we would have caught Forest Green but we haven’t.

“It’s not demoralising but you think: are we going to get a break there?

“It shows if we hadn’t won the games (Southport, Chester, Rovers) that our season could have petered out into nothing.”

Sixth place Eastleigh are busy chasing down Forest Green in fifth, who haven’t lost since Boxing Day.

Tonight is one of the three games in hand over the Gloucestershire club, meaning they could cut the deficit to two points with a win.

Kiddy, meanwhile, have a lot more on their plate than just poor league form.

Manager Gary Whild has admitted that a mass exodus of players could be possible this summer, with their budget set to be slashed amidst financial problems.

With many of the squad out of contract at the end of the campaign, Whild admits they are all playing to secure deals with other clubs. “There is a little bit of uncertainty with the budget for next season and that is not a good situation for the players,” commented Whild.

“Whatever happens at this football club, they are playing to impress maybe other suitors who are looking to sign them and can afford to bring them in.”
