EASTLEIGH young gun Tony Lee is set to continue his development with Dorchester Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

The teenage striker featured in the Magpies’ friendly against Truro City last Saturday having been part of the Spitfires’ squad for the bulk of pre-season.

He has previously had loan spells in senior football with Wessex outfit Lymington and Tiverton Town of the Southern One South & West.

Dorchester boss Mark Jermyn said: “We’ve got Tony in from Eastleigh and he looks good.

“He’s strong and physical, can get hold of the ball, and is exactly what we need really.

“Tony has been recommended to us by Eastleigh, so we’re going to look to take him on loan and we’re more than happy to do that. We just need to come to an agreement with Eastleigh.

“When we came into pre-season we didn’t have a striker, then we had Ben (Watson), Mark (Irvine) and Jonah (Ayunga) and now we’ve got Tony.

“We’ve got a bit more depth now and they’ve all got different attributes which is positive as well.”

Jermyn, meanwhile, insists he won’t be rushing back former Eastleigh defender Chris Dillon following a knee injury.

Dillon, the Magpies’ standout player last term, picked up the problem during the second friendly of the summer against Bridport.

“Chris is having a couple of knee problems at the minute, but I don’t think it’s anything drastic,” said Jermyn.

“As much as we want him back we’re just monitoring it and we’ll do what we can to get him fit.”

Dillon, part Richard Hill’s Conference South-winning Eastleigh squad of 2013/14, was released by the Spitfires that summer and followed Jermyn’s predecessor Graham Kemp, his former Christchurch boss, to Dorchester from Hamworthy United in September last year.
