EASTLEIGH were dealt a cruel, late blow at Guiseley this afternoon, pegged back by an equaliser deep into stoppage time.

The sixth added minute was being played when Guiseley’s Jake Lawlor bundled the ball home to force a 1-1 National League draw at Nethermoor.

Eastleigh had led since the last knockings of the first half when James Constable rifled home.

Substitute Sam Muggleton might have doubled the Spitfires’ lead from a cross by AFC Bournemouth loanee Sam Matthews, but he fired over at the far post from six yards out.

Eastleigh's slender advantage was finally wiped out amid the goalmouth scramble that followed a corner from the left. Jordan Preston and Adam Boyes had efforts blocked before Lawlor made it third time lucky for the lowly Lions.

The result lifts Eastleigh one place to 13th, still 11 points shy of the play-off zone.
