RICKY Miller's fourth hat-trick of a prolific season sentenced Eastleigh to a 3-0 National League defeat at Dover Athletic this afternoon.

The Spitfires, playing their first game under new caretaker boss/director of football Richard Hill, remain 15th in the National League and are still searching for their first win of 2017.

Miller side-footed in the third-minute opener following a save by Eastleigh keeper Ryan Clarke and then struck a decisive second on 71 minutes.

Eight minutes later he completed his hat-trick, extending Dover's unbeaten run to four games with his 32nd goal of the season.

The Spitfires, who parted company with manager Martin Allen on Wednesday, have now gone eight league matches without a win.

They are at home to Aldershot Town on Tuesday (7.45pm).
