EASTLEIGH pulled in a bumper crowd of 3,312 for their last home game against AFC Fylde.

And this Saturday the Spitfires are looking to go bigger still for the Vanarama National League visit of Chester (September 30, 3pm).

The Stoneham Lane club are inviting every season-ticket holder to bring along up to two guests free of charge.

To take advantage of the offer, fans must use the special A/B vouchers at the back of their season-ticket booklet to allow guest entry into the Silverlake Stadium.

There is no need to exchange the vouchers for match-day tickets in advance. The vouchers themselves can be presented at one of the turnstiles on the day.

For more information contact the club directly on 023 8061 3361.

The Spitfires’ tireless quest to bring in more fans will continue next month with another of their highly popular free entry games.

For the VNL visit of Solihull Moors on Tuesday, October 24 (7.45pm) the entire crowd will get in FREE of charge.

Free football is a great incentive, according to Eastleigh chairman Stewart Donald, and he believes more clubs should follow suit and show the local community what is on offer.

“It's what we call 'taster' games,” he said. “If you give something a go and it doesn’t cost you, there’s every chance you may come back.

“In general the cost of football is too high, so we are proud to play a part in keeping the game affordable and we hope for more great crowds for these matches.”

The Spitfires are currently seventh in the National League attendance chart with an average home gate of 2,153.

Above them are Tranmere Rovers (4,869), Wrexham (4,363), Leyton Orient (4,276), Hartlepool Utd (3,476), Maidstone Utd (2,435) and Sutton Utd (2,228).
