ON-LOAN Eastleigh striker James Constable was one of two Poole Town players sent off amid the controversial finale to Tuesday’s National League South clash at East Thurrock.

Constable and Marvin Brooks both scored as the Dophins came back from two down to draw 2-2.

But Brooks was dismissed by referee Jack Packman for “alleged dissent” in stoppage time and Constable was sent off after the final whistle.

Poole boss Tom Killick said: “Marvin’s was just before the end of the game and that was for alleged dissent. We feel the referee made a significant error in relation to that and will be appealing.

“After the game, there was a sending-off of James Constable.

Again, as I understand it, for comments made to the referee. But our clear take on that was James wasn’t the person who made the comment the referee alleged was made.

"There was a group of players around the referee at the time and it was basically a case of mistaken identity. So we will be appealing that as well.”

Following first-half goals from Rocks duo Reece Harris and Sam Higgins, Poole pulled one back when Brooks was teed up by ex-Winchester City hotshot Warren Bentley.

Brooks then flicked on for Constable, who hammered home in stoppage time to earn the Dolphins a point.

Poole, five points off safety in 20th spot, travel to fourth-placed St Albans on Saturday.
