Burnley manager Sean Dyche insists Winchester-born striker Danny Ings will not be prised away from the club during this transfer window.

The Clarets ace fired an unstoppable opener in the Lancashire club's 2-1 victory over Yeovil at Huish Park yesterday to take his tally this campaign to 21 goals.

His 20th had gone at St Mary’s the previous week, with Burnley losing 4-3 to Saints in the FA Cup.

Dyche said: “There has been speculation ever since I have been here over our players, whether it's Ings, Sam Vokes or Charlie Austin.

“There is naturally going to be interest when players are doing well. It's good that there are people interested but I don't envisage him leaving any time soon. “Certainly not in January, but who knows what happens in the future - everybody has their price, even Cristiano Ronaldo.

“He is a Burnley player, he is playing well, enjoying his football and scoring goals.”

Burnley took the lead 19 minutes into their first trip to Yeovil - Saints’ FA Cup fourth round opponents - when Ings found space 20 yards out and rifled past Marek Stech in the Yeovil goal.

Lymington-born Sam Vokes, who was also on target in his side’s FA Cup loss at Saints, tapped in a second on the hour mark.

Second from bottom Yeovil’s reply arrived after 79 minutes when young forward Kieffer Moore surged down the left wing and curled a cross-cum-shot towards the far post which eluded flailing goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
