Bristol City have agreed a deal to keep ex-Saint Simon Gillett at Ashton Gate for the rest of the 2013/14 campaign.
The Nottimngham Forest midfielder joined the Robins on loan in early November and has made nine appearances - prompting Steve Cotterill to extend his stay with the club.
"We've spoken to Nottingham Forest and they've agreed that we can extend the deal for the rest of the campaign," he said.
Gillett, 28, made 31 league appearances for Saints - mainly under Jan Poortvliet and Mark Wotte during the club's miserable Championship relegation season of 2008/09.
