EX-Saints skipper Dean Hammond took another stop towards a second promotion to the Premier League in three seasons tonight.
He came on as a late sub as Leicester won 2-1 at Birmingham, Lloyd Dyer and Jamie Vardy producing two top quality goals in a record-breaking victory.
The 2-1 Sky Bet Championship win was Leicester's eighth successive success and also their fourth away victory on the trot - both new club records.
Hammond has now appeared in 16 league games since signing for Leicester last August, albeit he has started just three times.
But Leicester, managed by former Saints boss Nigel Pearson, have won 13 of the games he has played in.
