Birmingham have rejected a second Bournemouth bid of £2million for teenager Demarai Gray.

The St Andrew's club had already dismissed the Cherries' opening offer of £1.5million last week.

Press Association Sport understands only a huge offer would even tempt Blues into parting with one of their stars but they are determined to keep hold of the 18-year-old.

Birmingham are under no pressure to sell the England Under-19 international and they rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for Gray in the summer.

The winger has been offered a two-year extension to his current deal, which runs out in 2016, after impressing this season with four goals in 20 games.

He netted a hat-trick in Birmingham's 6-1 win over Reading in December and has been a key man for boss Gary Rowett.

Under Rowett, Birmingham have risen to 14th in the Sky Bet Championship, ahead of Saturday's visit of Wigan, and have lost just twice in 11 games since his appointment in October.
