Ex-Saint Svensson set to start for Sweden

FORMER Saints midfielder Anders Svensson is due to start for Sweden in their Euro 2012 clash with England tonight.

The 35-year-old, who was at St Mary's from 2001 until 2005, was used as a substitute in his country's opening game, a 2-1 defeat to co-hosts Ukraine.

However, he is set to start this evening's match in Kiev, as Sweden look to preserve their record of never having last to England in a competitive fixture.

Another ex-Saint, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, is likely to miss out, though.

Having started England's 1-1 draw with France on Monday, the 18-year-old Arsenal winger is expected to be dropped to the bench this evening.

I could never understand why Svensson left at his peak to go back playing in Sweden. He clearly lacked ambition at club level.

Personally i thought this guy was average at best. Still at least the other Svennson from Sweden was awesome. We all know what happened after his injury.

He's 600-1 to be the first scorer. Get a quid on NOW.
