As England qualify for the World Cup, thoughts undoubtedly turn to the Three Lions' history of penalty shoot-outs.

But nothing the national side have experienced can compare to the 30 spot kicks taken in a shoot-out between two Hampshire sides.

Footballers from Brockenhurst and Andover Town set a new English record as they scored 29 consecutive penalties in a shoot-out, after the Hampshire Senior Cup match finished 0-0 after extra time.

After 29 successful attempts - a number confirmed by the FA as a new record - Andover's Claudio Herbert missed.

He said: “I was excited but nervous - I never thought I'd have to take the 30th penalty in a shoot-out.”
