POMPEY have sacked manager Guy Whittingham.
With the side currently languishing in 18th position on League Two, the decision was taken by chairman Iain McInnes, chief executive Mark Catlin and finance director Tony Brown..
Whittingham, 49, was in charge of the Fratton Park side for 12 months.
In the meantime, Andy Awford has been appointed caretaker, with former Saints players Alan McLoughlin and David Connolly appointed as his assistants.
