HAMBLE Club’s Hampshire Premier League title bid was boosted again at the weekend as leaders Baffins Milton suffered a shock loss.

Defending champions Rovers were beaten 3-2 at home by Headley while Hamble were caning visiting Overton 5-1.

Hamble are now just seven points adrift of Baffins, but with five games in hand.

Hamble stormed into a 3-0 lead after just 25 minutes with Kristian Pell’s opener followed by a Kevin Lewis double, including a penalty.

Shane Flooks and Luke Watts added further goals in the second half.

Headley led 3-0 at Baffins through Dan Gray, Aaron Cresswell and Richard McCann, before Shane Cornish and Dean Harris set up a tense finish.

Eric Cardona cracked a hat-trick as Liphook closed the gap on Baffins to six points with a 6-1 beating of visiting Winchester Castle. Harry Munt, Steve Harding and Ryan Angear also scored.

Jordan Neal was another three-goal star as Liss won the basement battle with Locks Heath 4-3.

Neal completed his trio with a 79th minute winner, with Alex Godwin also on target. Ollie Sturt (2) and Marc Holland replied.

Paulsgrove grabbed an injury time winner to beat visiting Bush Hill 4-3, Brett Farley with the dramatic goal. Aidan Hatton, Sam Kessack and Jake Warlow also netted, with Perry Harding (2) and Ronnie Spiteri replying.

QK Southampton came from two goals down to win 3-2 at Colden Common.

An Aiden Reed double inside the first 21 minutes had put the hosts in command. But Kevin Betlem and Callum Drake levelled before Betlem converted a penalty 13 minutes from time.

AFC Stoneham also threw away a two-goal lead, in their case at Stockbridge.

Luke Musselwhite netted twice inside the first 25 minutes, but Ashley Childs and Jordan Brown struck to give Stockbridge a point.

Clanfield led 3-0 after just 21 minutes at Hedge End, through Darren Ferguson (2) and Dan Coleman. Marc Judd and Dan Turner hit back but Clanfield held on.

Richard Luffman and Tom Ashton netted as Otterbourne won 2-0 at Fleetlands.
