Cadnam United pulled off an unexpected 1-0 victory over Stockbridge from a league above to go through to the semi-final of the Hampshire Intermediate Cup.

The fifth-place Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League Division One outfit struck through Danny Stickells – his third in as many games – on the brink of half time, slotting past Dan Kempson in the Robins net from inside the box.

Stockbridge, who are eighth in the Senior division, couldn’t find a way in against the Southampton Premier Division holders.

The Magpies will face a stern test in top-flight third-placed side Hamble Club in the last four as they look to better their runners-up finish from last season.

Senior table toppers Baffins meanwhile, cruised through their last eight tie against strugglers Hedge End Rangers 4-0, setting up a tie against mid-table Isle of Wight League side West Wight.

Dean Harris struck twice while Tyler Moret and Shane Cornish joined in with a goal each.

It was far less straight forward for high flying Hamble who overcame fellow top five side Otterbourne 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw at the end of normal time.

In the other quarter-final Netley Central Sports were dumped out on the Isle of Wight 2-0 by West Wight.

Elsewhere in league action, Bush Hill inflicted AFC Stoneham’s third defeat of the season with a 3-1 win at Mansel Park.

Tom Mason put Eugene McManus’s side 2-0 up within 16 minutes before Bradley Flooks made it three soon into the second half.

Luke Musselwhite, Stoneham’s prolific top goal-scorer, pulled one back from the penalty spot just past the hour mark.

QK Southampton pulled off an impressive 3-2 comeback win over second-placed Liphook United to continue their change of fortunes, which has seen them climb out of the relegation zone.

Kevin Betlem put QK one up on ten minutes before Ed Cardona netted twice to give United the lead.

Craig Johnston and Terry Greenough’s goals confirmed the win for Mark Sainsbury’s side.

Colden Commons suffered a demoralising third straight defeat in the county top-flight to ninth-place Fleetlands 7-2.

Luke Dawkins’s double was cancelled out by Dan Jackson, Jack Kirby and Jack Alford’s braces apiece.

Conner Johnson got the other.

Meanwhile, Liss Athletic beat Clanfield 2-0 through second half goals from John Davis and Daniel Jones.

Headley United beat Paulsgrove 1-0 through Dan Gray’s 25th minute goal.

In Division One Infinity continued their title push with a 3-2 win over Lyndhurst.

Brian Fennessy put the New Forest side 1-0 up on five minutes but Infinity clawed back to make 2-1 on the hour after Ryan Elliott and Steve Allen struck. 

Nathan Golden made it 2-2 with 15 minutes left before Richard Adames notched the all-important winner on 81 minutes.

High flying Broughton were also in action beating Michelmersh & Timsbury 4-1. 

Craig Phillips had given the home side the lead before Shane Vidler's double, Ben Rankin and Stuart Smillie secured it.
