HAMBLE Club recovered from the shock of conceding a first minute goal to keep their Hampshire Premier League title challenge firmly on track.

Kev Betlam put QK Southampton into a very early lead, but Hamble eventually claimed their 17th win in 18 league games to remain five points behind leaders Baffins but with seven games in hand.

Danny Cox levelled with a 19th minute penalty and Shane Flooks fired Hamble ahead.

Betlam converted a penalty of his own to put QK level at half-time.

Hamble struck twice in the last 16 minutes through Prince McLean and Kevin Lewis to emerge 4-2 winners.

Baffins recorded a 2-0 victory at Overton thanks to goals from Jake Couzens in the first half and Dean Harris seven minutes from time.

AFC Stoneham bagged five goals in the second half en route to a 6-2 home romp against Clanfield.

John Cole gave them a 40th minute lead, but Dan Broad levelled on the stroke of half-time.

It was a different story in the second half as Scott Hills (2), Ben Clarke, Sean Stacey and Roman Galloway struck to make it 6-1.

James Peters grabbed a late consolation.

Winchester Castle warmed up for tomorrow’s Puma Engineering League Cup semi-final with Baffins Milton by beating Headley United 3-1.

They trailed at the interval to a Rob Fry goal, but hit back through Stuart Findlay, Callum Holloway and Ross Lewis in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

Jose Carvallo scored the only goal ten minutes from time as Otterbourne won at Bush Hill.
