QK Southampton chairman Wayne Snelgrove is confident that the club will continue its transformation next season after announcing several new projects ahead of the new Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League season.

Snelgrove was full of praise as he reflected on a season of change, where the club achieved a 12th place finish after struggling in the early part of the campaign.

But the chairman is now looking forward to more progression next term.

“When I first accepted the position with QK, I made it clear the improvements we needed to make, both on and off the field,” he explained.

“While we are still work in progress we have certainly managed to achieve the goals we set for ourselves this season.

“On the pitch we have seen QK develop and finish in a worthy place in a season of transformation.

"We even turned in some results that may not have been expected and we certainly displayed a style of play that had a number of teams on the ropes.

“As we look forward to next season we hope to convert some of those near wins to points.

“We have a great team spirit and we developed each week by gaining experience and also an understanding of each other.”

While manager Mark Sainsbury will continue his duties as firstteam boss, QK have announced an under-18s team for the coming campaign.

They are also introducing a ladies team as well as adding more teams to their ever expanding youth programmes.

It is all part of the cogs of the club, which aims to drip feed their first-team with players developing in the youth and reserve teams.

“Overall we are looking good going into next season,” Snelgrove said.

Trials for the u18 team are being held on June 11 at Lordshill Recreation Ground at 7pm.
