Ex-Saints set for a brush with the law
5:00pm Wednesday 9th May 2012 in Local Football
AN Ex-Saints XI will take on the Hampshire Police Vets squad in a charity match this Sunday.
A host of stars from the club’s past are due to feature in the game at Totton & Eling’s ground.
Supporters can expect to see the likes of Paul Jones, Dave Beasant, Jason Dodd, Francis Benali, David Hughes, Tommy Widdrington, Rod and Ray Wallace, Gordon Watson and Jo Tessem, among others.
The day is raising money for children’s medical research charity Sparks, the National Police Memorial Trust and nominated charities of the Ex-Saints Association.
Gates open at 11.30am, with two youth games taking place before the main event, which kicks off at 2pm. An auction will be held after the match.
Totton & Eling are hosting the game at their Millers Park ground, Salisbury Road, behind AFC Totton’s stadium. Supporters can make a charity donation on the gate.
The match was originally scheduled to take place two weeks ago, but was rained off.
