Dave Reading fired a first half hat-trick as AFC Stoneham reduced the gap on runaway Puma Engineering Hampshire League leaders Locks Heath last night.

Reading scored in the 19th, 29th and 41st minutes as Stoneham beat rock bottom Hamble Club 6-1.

They are now 22 points behind Locks Heath, but still have six games in hand.

Stoneham were 4-1 up at the interval, with Darryl Phillips also on target, and added second half goals through Chris Knight and Josh Harfield.

Hamble replied through an own goal.

Third placed Colden Common missed a chance to maintain their title ambitions by only managing a 0-0 home draw with Hedge End Rangers.

The stalemate leaves Common a huge 27 points adrift of Locks Heath, but still with eight games in hand.

Jamie Strange scored a second half winner as QK Southampton won 1-0 at Fleetlands.

Goals from Tony Bellot (2), Nick Magee and Paddy Murray helped Bournemouth Sports win 4-1 at Otterbourne.

Max Beebe and Sam Dickety netted as Winchester Castl won 2-1 at Sporting Bishops Waltham, Jamie Buckley replying.

Dan Errington and Luke Musselwhite both scored twice as Liss won 5-1 at Portsmouth University. Andy Brown also netted after Raphael Brown had put the Uni ahead in the sixth minute.
