LOCKS Heath have given chasing pair AFC Stoneham and Colden Common a glimmer of hope in the Puma Engineering Hampshire League.

Locks could only manage a 3-3 home draw against AFC Aldermaston, while Stoneham and Common both won away.

That leaves Locks 20 points clear of Stoneham, who have six games in hand, while Common are now 25 points adrift of Locks but with eight games in hand.

Ryan Lock scored his 32nd league goal of the season for Locks yesterday, with Ash Tattersall netting twice as the hosts recovered from 1-2 down to lead 3-2.

But Dexter Skipp’s 70th minute leveller - his second goal of the game - gave Aldermaston a point.

Dave Reading also has 32 league goals to his name after the Stoneham hot-shot netted in a 3-1 win at Paulsgrove.

Ex-Winchester City man Darryl Phillips scored twice, with all three Stoneham goals coming in the last 21 minutes after Ryan Cripps had fired Paulsgrove into a 12th minute lead.

A 73rd minute Phil Curtis effort gave Colden Common victory at Clanfield.

QK Southampton defeated Fleetlands 4-1 with doubles from Nathan Gray and Josh Coakley, while Luke Musselwhite (2) and Dan Lucas helped Liss triumph 3-1 at Overton.

Nick Magee’s 84th minute equaliser rescued a point for hosts Bournemouth Sports against Winchester Castle, who had gone ahead through John Wanless in the 67th minute.

Rock bottom Hamble Sports could not raise a side for their trip to Otterbourne.

Portsmouth University could not raise a side either for their home game against Hedge End Rangers, and last Tuesday couldn’t do the same for the scheduled match at Winchester Castle.
