SHOLING have completed the signing of ex-Eastleigh striker Sam Wilson from Winchester City.

Having lost top gun Lee Wort during the summer, the Boatmen's firepower has been further depleted in recent weeks with Alex Baldacchino sidelined by injury.

The Southern One South & West club lodged seven days' notice of approach for 19-year-old Wilson last week and announced his arrival last night.

A club statement said: "Sam was very keen to speak to the Boatmen to enable him a chance of playing at a higher level in the Southern League. Sholing are grateful to Winchester for granting his release.

"His signing will boost the forward options available to (co-managers) Mick Marsh and Dave Fear who, so far this season, have always been at least two strikers short due to injuries and suspensions."

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Rory Anderson, who signed for Sholing during the summer, has joined Sydnehams Premier outfit Brockenhurst.

Anderson made his Badgers’ debut in Saturday’s 2-1 league win over Alresford Town at Grigg Lane.
