Sam Wilson netted a brace as Sholing sacrificed a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Didcot Town in the Southern League South & West Division One last night at the Silverlake Arena.

Wilson, who recently swapped Winchester for the Boatmen, notched his double within ten minutes of kick off.

But Dave Fear and Mick Marsh’s side drew their fifth game of season as the Oxford side came back.

After some good play by Sholing in the opening 20 minutes the away side, who are flying high in the South & West, were level at half time.

Pablo Haysham slotted home with 21 minutes gone before Boatmen centre back Stuart Mott fouled in the box – the spot kick was converted by Didcot attacker John Mills on with ten to go in the first half.

Skipper Byron Mason returned to the Boatmen starting line-up after sitting out of the 3-2 win at Wantage Town.

Nathan Lynch and Mott tested Town keeper James Foster in the second half and, just past the hour-mark, Mason almost completed a lovely passing move, but fired just wide.

Sholing now prepare for three consecutive away trips, starting with Bishops Cleeve. They then travel to Bashley twice in two cup ties next week.
