BEN Wright has wasted no time settling in at Havant & Waterlooville.
Having parted company with Eastleigh on Thursday, the Hampshire-born former Peterborough and Crawley striker scored on his Hawks debut on Saturday.
Another ex-Spitfire, Bradley Bubb, put H&W ahead at home to Tom Widdrington’s Eastbourne Borough and Wright promptly doubled the advantage, sliding home the rebound after Scott Donnelly had hit the bar.
Substitute Darren Lok replied late on for the visitors, but the Hawks held tight for a 2-1 win to put them fifth in the Vanarama Conference South.
Havant have pulled level on points with neighbours Gosport Borough who suffered their first away league defeat of the campaign 1-0 at Whitehawk.
Jake Robinson settled a dour affair six minutes from time to end Borough’s six-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
