Sydenhams Premier Division high fliers Moneyfields have signed former Saints and Juventus striker Vincent Pericard.

The 32-year-old, who also lists Portsmouth, Swindon Town, Stoke City and Carlisle United among numerous former professional clubs, will boost the Moneys’ charge for the Wessex Premier title, where they currently sit second behind Petersfield Town.

Pericard, who made five appearances for Saints in the 2007/08 season on loan from the Potters, most recently played for Havant & Waterlooville in 2012, playing five times.

The frontman is in line to make his debut in the Premier Division match at Folland Sports tomorrow night with Miles Rutherford's side short in attack.

"Vincent has agreed to help us out initially while our leading goalscorer Steve Hutchings serves a three-match ban," Rutherford said.

"We were struggling with our limited budget to find someone who could come in and do a job for us.

"Luckily, a family within our club has close contact with Vincent and they asked him on our behalf whether he would be interested."

The Cameroon born player is currently involved in education, including running a college course in London, and will be helping the club's title tilt.
