FORMER Christchurch and Winchester City boss Graham Kemp will be the new manager of Bemerton Heath Harlequins following Ian Chalk's decision to stand down.

Chalk, who has been in sole charge of the Sydenhams Premier Division outfit for the past eight years, had originally planned to continue until the end of the season.

But he has brought his leaving date forward to March 21, enabling Kemp to get a couple of pre-arranged family commitments out of the way before he takes charge.

Kemp has been out of football since leaving Southern Premier Division outfit Dorchester Town in mid-January after just four months in charge at the Avenue Stadium.

Former Downton boss Jeff Softley and ex-Alresford Town co-manager Danny Robinson are also believed to have been in the running for the Bemerton job.
