FOLLAND Sports will not be rushed into appointing a new manager.

If all goes well, the Sydenhams Premier Division club may be ready to unveil someone later this week.

But chairman Adrian Stremel said: “We’re still having big conferences about it and it’s still a bit up in the air.

“We’ve interviewed quite a few people over the past couple of weeks and there have been some good applicants, but obviously we want to appoint the right people which is not always as straightforward as it seems.”

Out-going boss Dave Lewis signed off on a winning note last Saturday, leading Follands to a 2-1 win at Lymington Town.

Dave Marden put Lymo ahead with a header from a corner before Jamie Barron and Richard Gregory hit back for the Planemakers, who are currently eighth with matching goals columns of 74 scored and 74 conceded.

They could slip a place on goal difference if Lymington win their final game at Brockenhurst tonight. (Wednesday).

Thanking former assistant boss Lewis for his efforts since taking over from Danny Bowers at the start of this year, Stremel said: “Dave’s been vastly important for us.

"He’s been great, he’s stayed loyal to the club and he’s going to be missed.

“It’s sad to see him and Danny go. I wish both of them all the best for the future. They’ve done very well for us."
