Salisbury FC have signed former Eastleigh, Sholing and Winchester City striker Sam Wilson in their latest venture into the transfer market.

Manager Steve Claridge is constructing a squad from scratch ahead of the Sydenhams Premier Division season and has added five more signings, with more new faces expected in the coming days as his team nears completion.

Wilson was last playing for Hungerford Town in the Southern League Premier Division and joins alongside ex-Folland Sports and Team Solent versatile defender/midfielder Patrick 'Pip' Nolan.

Steve Walker,  George Coulson and ex-Bemerton Heath Harlequins and Laverstock & Ford midfielder Kane O'Keefe make up the other new arrivals at the Whites.

"It's been non-stop for three months, trialling players, trying to put them together," said Claridge.

"I'm really pleased with the business we've done, we've worked really hard - I think people will know that.

"You don't start from nothing. You don't get 16 players who are going to be competitive in the Wessex League sitting on your backside and doing nothing.

"It's been non-stop, phone calls and meetings trying to organise things."

Behind the scenes, Claridge has bolstered his coaching staff with the arrival of Matt Holmes, former Whites player and son of legend Nick, and Mick Jenkins as a director of football.
