WINCHESTER City’s free-scoring run ground to a resounding halt in the Southern League S & W.
After a 7-2 win against Bridgwater Town and a 6-5 win over Wimborne last Tuesday, City at least have their first clean sheet since promotion.
There were chances for Winchester to score, but none yielded an end product.
Striker Zach Glasspool fired the first straight at the keeper.
Warren Bentley, who has nine goals in three games, found AdamRoberts in the second period, but the winger fired wide.
Bentley was on target with a shot from sub Geoff Dunn’s cross, but the keeper was equal to it.
The former Alresford man also had a penalty appeal turned down before Jake Newton’s pile-driver flew narrowly wide.
