JUSTIN Bennett flushed Bath City’s unbeaten start down the plughole with a stunning hat-trick for Gosport Borough tonight.

The irrepressible ex-Andover and Eastleigh marksman scored a goal either side of half-time at Privett Park to put Gosport in the driving seat before Ashley Kington hit back ten minutes from time.

Bennett came up with another clinical finish in stoppage to seal a 3-1 Borough win, lifting Alex Pike’s men to fourth in the Vanarama National League South.

News was not so good for Pike’s old club Hamworthy United who lost their FA Cup first qualifying round tie 3-1 at Bideford AFC.

Matt Kemble’s effort for the Hammers was eclipsed by Ben Wood’s first-half header and two late Billy Tucker strikes, earning the Devon outfit a trip to Gosport on Saturday week.

Petersfield Town, meanwhile, will host Cirencester in the second qualifying round after the Centurions saw off Dorchester 3-1

There were plenty of goals in the Hampshire FA Senior Cup tonight with both Blackfield & Langley and Lymington Town hitting five.

Blackfield swept Newport IoW aside 5-1 at Gang Warily thanks to Joshua Buck, Jesse Gould, Ekow Elliott and two-goal Rico Wilson.

Two former AFC Totton players ganged up on Romsey Town with Jack Odam (3) and Nathan Hurst (2) firing Lymington to 5-0 glory.

Result of the night, however, belonged to Sydenhams One outfit Totton & Eling.

The Millers haven’t had much to smile about so far this season and things didn’t look good when two quick goals from Andover Town’s James Jennings and Tommy Wright plunged them into half-time arrears.

But Sam House and Will Heather pulled them back on terms to force a penalty shoot-out which T&E won 5-4.

Moneyfields disposed of US Portsmouth 2-0 through Mark Cotton and Alfie Rutherford.

There was no holding AFC Portchester in the Portsmouth Senior Cup. Graham Rix’s men blitzed Locks Heath 11-0, spearheaded by four-goal Luke Sweeney.
