TEAM Solent will have their minds set on revenge when they welcome Cadbury Heath to Test Park on October 31 in the FA Vase first round.

The Students played the Western Premier outfit last season and, having been held 2-2 on home territory, lost the replay 2-1 after extra time.

“It was a lot earlier in the season and we went there with a bare eleven, so we’ll see how we do this time,” said manager James Taylor.

With Solent now nearing full strength after the start of the new university year, the team are on a roll.

Saturday’s 4-1 Vase win over Shaftesbury Town was their third straight league and cup victory and, yet again, Jesse Waller-Lassen proved lethal in front of goal.

Having opened the scoring after seven minutes, he struck again on 25, making it seven goals scored in three games since returning from a summer in America.

Two goals either side of half-time from Ollie Goddard and Matt Sheedy put the Students in cruise control, making it a little disappointing that Jamel Wiseman needlessly got himself sent off after an hour for raising his hand to an opponent.

“The lad rolled round like he’d been shot, but Jamel was naive. His reaction got him sent off more than what he actually did,” said Taylor.

“They scored after about 80 minutes, but it was comfortable for us and would have been more so but for the sending-off.”

Solent travel to Fareham Town in the Sydenhams Premier Division tomorrow (Tuesday) having lost 5-3 to the Reds earlier in the season with a below-strength squad. Defender Pip Nolan is back available having been cup-tied on Saturday.
