GRAHAM Kemp has reassured Bemerton Heath Harlequins fans that he will turn results around.

The Harlequins were crushed 4-0 at home by Newport IoW in the Sydenhams Premier Division last night – their fourth straight league defeat which has seen them leak an alarming 17 goals.

It drops them to 13th in the table and former Christchurch, Dorchester and Winchester City boss Kemp admitted: “At this moment in time, we’re clearly not good enough.

“We are low on confidence defensively and we don’t look like scoring either.

“We need to regroup and get back to how we were at the start of the season.

“It’s a worrying run, but I am confident we will turn things round.”

Bemerton kept things tight until the stroke of half-time when a woeful pass was intercepted and Connor Kelly cashed in.

Kelly turned provider for Jimmi Burton to make it 2-0 to the Islanders and Burton soon struck again with a left-footed effort into the bottom corner.

Liam Triggs, who had set Burton up for his second, compounded Bemerton’s misery with a fourth.

The Harlequins’ best chances fell to Tom Jeffes in the last ten minutes, but he was denied by Cameron Farley in the Port goal.

Blackfield & Langley prepared for Saturday’s twice-postponed FA Vase tie at Plymouth Parkway with a 2-0 win over Fareham Town at Gang Warily.

The Watersiders scored a goal in each half through Dan Munday and Rico Wilson and, in between, Ekow Elliott missed a penalty.

Glenn Howes’ Blackfield are up to fourth, six points behind joint leaders Salisbury and Andover Town with two games in hand.

Former AFC Totton forward Zac Mouland gave Lymington Town a first-half lead at Cowes Sports. But the New Forest outfit had Luke Ansell sent off before Jordan Browne steered the sixth-placed Yachtsmen back on course for a 1-1 draw.

Team Solent also had to content themselves with a point from a 0-0 stalemate at Bournemouth Poppies.

The Victoria Park hosts played well over an hour with ten men after having goalkeeper Elliot Broome sent off for handling outside the area, but the nearest Solent came to scoring was when Matt Sheedy struck the bar from distance.

Folland Sports ended a dismal night at Horndean reduced to ten men and on the end of a 3-0 beating. Dan Hayes put the Dean 1-0 up at half-time and two-goal Robbie Tambling did the rest.
