IT'S been a night to remember for three of the area’s deadliest non-League strikers.

Sam Wilson - scorer of an FA Vase hat-trick on Saturday - took his season’s tally to 30, netting twice as Salisbury blitzed Andover Town 6-0 in the Sydenhams Premier Division.

Eddie Perrett, Ashley Jarvis, Danny Young and an own goal completed the tally, easing the Whites five points clear at the top.

Justin Bennett scored on his 400th Gosport Borough appearance in a 3-1 National League South win over Eastbourne Borough. But he was outdone on the night by two-goal former Sholing striker Lee Wort on his return from loan at Poole Town.

Havant & Waterlooville and Fleet Town are through to the Hampshire FA Senior Cup semi-finals, both requiring penalties to oust AFC Porchester and Lymington Town respectively. Another quarter-final is scheduled tomorrow (Wednesday, 7.45) when Winchester City host Sholing.

In the Russell Cotes Cup quarter-final, Hampshire League outfit Otterbourne (Tom Sands, 2) stunned Sydenhams Premier side Moneyfields (Dan Gauntlett) 2-1.

*AFC Totton defender James ‘Monkey’ Roden has retired from football following a recent hospital scan on his knee.

Having previously played for the Stags as a midfielder, Roden has been superb in central defence this season after returning in the summer from Folland Sports.

“It was an extremely difficult decision for Monkey to make but, after discussions with his family, he felt it was the only one he could make,” said a club statement.

"All at the club wish him the best of luck going forward and we hope to see him soon at the Testwood Stadium.”

Totton have also announced that striker Craig Feeney has been released from his contract following his recent return from Australia. Southern One South & West rivals Winchester City have shown an interest.
