SALISBURY reeled off their 17th league win in a row tonight to edge ever closer to the Sydenhams Premier Division title.

A second-half header by Steve Walker sneaked the league leaders past second-placed Blackfield & Langley 1-0 at Gang Warily, avenging October’s 2-1 home defeat at the hands of the Watersiders.

The game was watched by a crowd of 302, more than 200 of them Whites fans.

Steve Claridge’s men now need seven points from nine games to be certain of the title.

At the other end of the table, Folland Sports’ survival hopes suffered another jolt when they were beaten 2-1 at home by neighbours Sholing.

Top scorer Dan Mason set up older brother Barry to open the scoring for Sholing after 27 minutes.

The Boatmen hit the woodwork either side of the break through Dean Faithfull and Dan Mason but had to wait until the 85th minute to strike again through Alex Sawyer.

Follands pulled one back in the dying moments with a scruffy own goal.
