FORMER Saints boss Paul Sturrock has taken on a role in non-League.
The 59-year-old, who left Yeovil Town in December, has joined South West Peninsula League Premier side Plymouth Parkway as an adviser.
Sturrock, who has had two spells in the Plymouth Argyle helm, agreed to join the Step 6 side (equivalent to Sydenhams Wessex One) following the recent appointment of Mark Russell as Parkway’s chairman.
“I first met with Mark to discuss Plymouth Parkway a couple of weeks ago and straightaway I could see the passion to drive the club forward,” said Sturrock, who briefly succeeded fellow Scot Gordon Strachan as Southampton manager in 2004.
“I am delighted to be joining such a great club with ambition to grow.”
Since leaving St Mary’s, former St Johnstone and Dundee United manager Sturrock has been in charge of Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon, Plymouth, Southend and Yeovil.
