FAWLEY AFC’S venture into Sunday football ended in disappointment.

The Oilers were knocked out of the FA Cup 3-0 by Sydenhams Premier rivals AFC Portchester at the Waterside Sports & Social Club yesterday.

Steve Ramsey, Tom Froggatt and Joe Bye carried Graham Rix’s Royals through to a home tie against Mangotsfield United in the preliminary round on August 20.

Fawley switch their attentions back to the league on Wednesday when Tom Prodomo’s Bashley come calling. Two days later they host Sholing in Friday night action.

Ex-Follands and Sholing marksman Ashley Jarvis bagged a brace as Moneyfields edged a high-scoring encounter 4-3 over Christchurch in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.

Lee Tigwell and Lewis Stockford were also on target for Dave Carter’s Money men, eclipsing goals from Grant Cormack (2) and Aaron Atkinson for Priory.

Moneys have been drawn away in the preliminary round to winners of the Whitchurch United versus Cribbs tie which ended goalless on Saturday. The replay is in Bristol tomorrow evening (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

Moneyfields’ city neighbours US Portsmouth (Mig Dark, Brandon Bowman) booked their passage through with a 2-1 win over Melksham Town and now host Southern One South & West outfit Winchester City on Saturday week.
