SHOLING will put their 100 per cent start to the season on the line away to Moneyfields tomorrow (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

The Boatmen made it three Sydenhams Premier wins out of three with a 4-1 result at Fawley AFC on Friday.

Owen Roundell, their match-winning hero against Cowes Sports three days earlier, side-footed home from a free-kick just five minutes in.

The Oilers levelled with a well-taken Ben Bolton goal on the break, but a cheeky back-heel from Zac Mouland restored the Boatmen’s advantage just before the break.

Sholing created chance after second-half chance and eventually battered down the door with two goals in the last 15 minutes.

Ex-AFC Totton man Mouland struck again from a trademark Kev Brewster set-piece before a Dan Mason cross was diverted into his own net by Fawley’s Sam Burrow.

Sholing travelled to the Waterside without six first-team regulars – Byron Mason, Zach Glasspool, Alex Sawyer, Jack Smith, Pete Castle and Jake Hoole.

Coach Marc Diaper reflected afterwards: “There’s always room for improvement, but I thought every player was class tonight.

“Fawley is a tough place to go to and, with six regular starters missing, without the right attitude and focus it could have been easy to slip up.

"We played with a high tempo and intensity for 90 minutes and the lads stuck 100% to the plan we set out.

"Dan and Zac again were very difficult to deal with up top and it was great for Zac to get his name on the scoresheet twice.

"Without doing a disservice to Fawley, who worked hard and played some good stuff at times, we genuinely could've had double-figure goals tonight."

Moneyfields have also had a strong start, picking up seven league points from nine.
