GAVIN Reeves has been sacked as manager of struggling Verwood Town.
It is believed that prior to being axed, Reeves had been asked by incoming chairman Martin Gilham to step down and become a coach.
The 47-year-old former Poole Town coach had been in charge at Potterne Park since May when he was named as successor to Alan Lay.
Verwood - currently bottom of the Sydenhams Premier Division with just one point to their name - are at home to Amesbury Town tomorrow (Wednesday).
