WINCHESTER City have confirmed the signing of experienced former Salisbury, Eastleigh and Kidderminster all-rounder Robbie Matthews.
The club submitted the necessary paperwork to the Southern League yesterday and hope the 34-year-old striker/centre-back will be eligible to play in this afternoon's (Saturday, 3pm) big Division One South & West showdown at home to league leaders Hereford.
A City statement said: "We can confirm that we have signed the vastly experienced Robbie Matthews, who has played for clubs such as Salisbury, Eastleigh, Newport County, Crawley and others!
"His career has been a roller coaster, but wherever he has played he has been highly regarded and will bring a wealth of ability and experience to the Denplan."
