SALISBURY have waved goodbye to their unbeaten home league record in the Southern One South & West - and been hit by two defensive injuries.

High-flying Tiverton Town showed their play-off potential yesterday with a 2-1 victory in front of a 705 Raymond McEnhill Stadium crowd.

Salisbury’s Tommy Wright seized on a weak 56th-minute header back to the goalkeeper to wipe out Owen Howe’s first-half opener for Tivvy.

But calamity struck for the Whites on 79 minutes when George Colson’s back pass bobbled over ’keeper Alex Bass’s attempted kick and dribbled into the empty net.

Salisbury’s misery was compounded by another shoulder dislocation for luckless ex-Sholing and Folland Sports centre-back Calum Brockway.

Brockway, who has already had six months sidelined, will miss the rest of this season at least and is considering his future in the game.

The club, meanwhile, have reported that another their defenders, Steve Walker, was involved in a car accident on his way back to Dorset.

His car was a write-off, but thankfully Walker's injuries were not as serious as they might have been.

"We wish both players well in their recoveries," said a Whites statement.
