BASHLEY boss Tom Prodomo hailed Charlie Kendall as “first class” after the AFC Bournemouth work experience lad had helped dent Blackfield & Langley’s Sydenhams Premier title bid.

The Cherries youngster, a member of Carl Fletcher’s under-18 squad, opened the scoring at Gang Warily as the Foresters jolted the Watersiders 4-0 in a huge upset on the Waterside.

The teenager’s goal was added to by new signing Matt Vining from Fawley AFC, Dami Bada and Kabba Jack as Bash emphatically ended a five-match winless run.

Prodomo said: “We have a growing relationship with AFC Bournemouth which is very helpful to us being on a low budget.

“They have been keen to send players across because of the professional environment we have in terms of video analysts and sports science reports.

“It is a relationship which is working well for us and Charlie has come in and been first class. He played a major role in the victory.”

Prodomo started his second spell at Bashley Rec by presiding over six wins in the first eight league games of the season.

But victory at Blackfield was only the Bash boys’ second in their last 11 games.

“We have a young group,” said Prodomo. “We had a really good start to the season and then had a difficult period, so it has been feast or famine for us.

“We had a really good intensity about us against Blackfield.”

Blackfield, pushed down to third by Sholing, are lagging six points behind league leaders Moneyfields ahead of their visit to the Portsmouth pacesetters this Saturday.

Moneys kept their rivals at arm’s length with a comfortable 4-0 win at Fawley at the weekend, but their disciplinary woes mean they will be nowhere near at full strength to face Glenn Howes’ men.

After a spate of red cards, Moneyfields will be without six first-choice players and manager Dave Carter ruefully reflected: “We’ve got more disciplinary points than league points and that isn’t acceptable.

“If we are to stand any chance of winning the league our discipline has to improve.”

Moneyfields at least managed to keep all 11 men on the pitch at weather-beaten Fawley as goals from Nathan Paxton, Jake Raine, James Guthrie and ex-Fareham man Ash Tattersall completed a sorry afternoon for the Waterside clubs.

Second-to-bottom Fawley have announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Samson Balogun and confirmed the appointment of ex-Hythe & Dibden man Scott Johnston as their new secretary.
