WITH just three victories standing between Team Solent and the FA Vase final at Wembley, manager James Taylor is hoping for a home tie to continue their history-making cup run when the last-16 draw takes place later today.

Speaking after Saturday's 3-0 fourth round win over Croydon, Taylor expressed his desire to play another tie at Test Park.

"The ideal draw would be at home," he said.

"It is always better to get a home tie, but we have a group of players here that will rise to any occasion home or away."

The manager also praised the performance of his players, following a commanding second-half display.

“It was a fantastic team performance,” he said.

“Every player on that pitch had a great game; I would not rate any of them below an eight-out-of-ten.

“In the first half (Croydon) had a lot of quality and proved tough to break down.

“But in the second half we took control. It was a special performance.”

Taylor also confirmed midfielder Ryan Dacres-Smith, who went down injured in the latter stages of the match and appeared visibly upset as he limped off, should recover quickly.

"It is nothing serious," he added.

"The pitch was wet and these kind of injuries can happen sometimes to anyone."

The Southampton Solent University side will be in action again on Saturday, (January 14) when they take on AFC Portchester in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division at Test Park.
