CRAIG Feeney scored his 28th goal of the season for Winchester City this evening, but it was all in vain.

Having seized a 28th-minute lead in Worcestershire, the in-form Citizens had the tables turned on them as hosts Evesham United hit back for a 3-1 win.

Buoyed by seven victories from their last eight Southern One South & West games, City looked good for another when Feeney followed up with a header after 'keeper Kevin Sawyer had parried Howard Neighbour’s first-time shot.

But Lance Smith hit back at the start of the second half and further goals from Liam Harding and Adam Mann sealed City’s fate.

Winchester, now ninth, hit the road again to Larkhall Athletic on Saturday.
