SOUTH Shields stand between Team Solent and the FA Vase quarter-finals.
The Mariners knocked out holders Morpeth 4-0 this evening following the late abandonment of Saturday’s tie.
Morpeth had been 4-2 up at Mariners Park when the floodlights failed on 82 minutes and, with South Shields unable to fix them in time, the replay was switched to Morpeth.
South Shields dominated with two goals apiece from Gavin Cogdon and David Foley before Morpeth captain Keith Graydon was red-carded.
The fifth round tie at Team Solent’s Test Park is on Saturday, January 28.
James Taylor's Solent University side are looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow Southampton club Sholing who lifted the Vase at Wembley in 2014.
